She spoke on Tuesday (21 January) at the inaugural HSJ National Cardio Forum about co-developing the project, sharing her skills and knowledge and undertaking engagement activities to ensure the project and partnership with Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System  was a success.

CEO, James Wood also spoke, underlining how the BP+ project has deepened and strengthened the LPCs relationship with partner organisations and commissioners and introduced them to new people and new ideas. He also indicated his hopes that BP+ may lead to other projects in the future.

James and Hinal were joined at the conference by Luke Burton, programme manager for Surrey Heartlands ICS, who leads BP+. All three relayed the benefits of pharmacy expertise throughout the project stressing how the LPC provided expertise to the BP+ project that other partners did not possess, for example making sure specific strategic and operational needs of Surrey’s pharmacy contractors were understood.

The HSJ National Cardio Forum brings together clinicians and local leaders from NHS England, NHS Improvement, Public Health England and other arms’ length bodies to support clinicians and local leaders in implementing and achieving the goals set out in the NHS Long Term Plan.
