CPPE Event: Clinical assessment – essential skills workshop

1st December 2019 09:30 - 16:30

Holiday Inn, Povey Cross Road, Gatwick, RH6 0BA

The next CPPE Clinical assessment skills workshop event will take place on Sunday the 1st of December 2019.

Are you planning to offer the NHS Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS) as part of your pharmacy provision?
CPPE are delighted to offer this full-day workshop to support pharmacists who intend to offer the CPCS. The CPCS forms part of the new community pharmacy contractual framework in England.
This workshop has been produced to meet the national curriculum for the service outlined by NHS England, NHS Improvement and HEE, so learners can be confident that they will cover all relevant competencies.

Workshop content
The day is facilitated by CPPE tutors supported by a GP trainer and a clinical demonstrator.
Participants work through the following topics:
person-centred history taking
clinical assessment and red flags
common clinical examinations
safety netting and referrals.
Learners will have opportunity to reflect upon the behaviours and skills they need to offer the CPCS. The day includes brief presentations, demonstration, group work, case studies and a practical session to practice a range of basic clinical examinations and observations. The GP trainer will share examples of best practice and experiences from their own practice.

Who is it suitable for?
The day is designed for pharmacists only.
To get the best from the day we recommend that all participants complete the pre-workshop material that will be sent out in advance of the workshop.
